THE
VACATION IN CHINA
We had a very memorable vacation when we were in Beijing, China on 18th July 2011 until 22th July
2011.We went there in a group of four witch are NurZafirah bt Zaini, Azdwannie Azman
bt Abdullah, Puteri Nur Elisha bt Abdul Razak and me, Siti Nur Naquiah bt Mohd Farid.
We visited many wonderful places and did many activities as it is our first
time there in an old capital city
developing at fast pace.
During the first day, we took a flight to Beijing
Capital International Airport (BCIA). We arrived at BCIA at dawn. Then, we took
a taxi to Grand Hotel Beijing which is not far from the airport. The distance
from the airport to the hotel is 25.3 km / 15.7 miles. It is such a long
journey and we fell asleep inside the taxi as we were too tired. The taxi
driver woke us up when we had arrived at the hotel and I managed all the
payment during the vacation used money that had been collected for several
months.. It showed me that peoples in China are rich with honour and
responsibility when they were on their duty. For the hotel’s payment, we needed
to pay RM 271 for a day and a room. We took two rooms for two pairs of us.
The second day, we went to Forbidden City (the
Imperial Palace). With over 9000 rooms and over 250 acres, this large palace
was built between 1406 and 1420. It burned down and was rebuilt, sacked and
renovated for times, so most of the architecture was back to the 18th
century in the Qing Dynasty. We had to walk a lot as it’s a large palace and
the guide escort had told the history behind the palace. There was a Starbucks
Cafe in the palace. We did not want miss
the chance so we had our break there. The Forbidden City opened at 8.30 a.m.
and closed at 5.00 p.m.
The weather that day was cloudy, but we didn’t want to
waste time by sitting in the hotel doing nothing. We took a bus that drives straight
to the heart of Beijing,Beijing City. There we visited a place called Tiananmen
Square. In 1949,Tiananmen Square was the Palace from a Rostam.Chairman Mao announced
of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China. It was very captivating
to hear all about the long history of that wonderful, glorious Palace.
On this day,we wore our tracksuits and shoes because
we wanted to go to Beijing’s Great Wall of China. We got there by taxi. The taxi
driver told us many long tales about China on our way there. He told stories
about how the zodiac calendar was made and how the mouse became the first
animal on the Lunar calendar. When we go out of the taxi,we were stunned by how
the Great Wall was big and long. Some of us sighed because she walking was not
her cup of tea,but she pushed hard and we managed to walk about 50 km/600 km.It
tooked us a whole day .We were exhausted,so we went to our hotel to rest.
It was the last day of our visit,we were sad that this
would be our last day here. For our last trip,we took a quick visit to Behai
Park.It was situated near the Forbidden City. There we went shopping and bought
some souveniers for ourselves and our family and friends. The Park was very refreshing and breathtaking. Near the park was a place
called the Round city. The round city has a jar, which is
believed to be the only thing left from the great Khan that reigned China in
Yuan Dynasty. Then, we rode a bus straight to the Airport. On the plan we all
took a last glimpse of the beautiful sight of Beijing.
